STORRS, Conn. – No. 12 UConn women's hockey (1-1) is set for their first road test this season as the Huskies head to No. 9 Clarkson (1-1) for a two-game series this weekend. The series is set to begin on Friday, October 3 at 6:00pm. The series will conclude on Saturday, October 4 at 2:00pm. All games will be streamed on ESPN+.
UConn is coming off a series split against No. 11 St. Cloud State to open their 2025-26 campaign. The Huskies scored three goals in their opening weekend, two coming on the power play. UConn's penalty kill was equally effective last weekend, keeping St. Cloud off the scoreboard through five Husky penalties.
The reigning Hockey East Goaltender of the Year Tia Chan picked up right where she left off a season ago, making 63 saves on the weekend, including a season high 36 saves in Saturday's win. Chan was named the Hockey East Goaltender of the Week.
A Look at Clarkson
The Clarkson Golden Knights are coming off a series split at Merrimack to open their season. Clarkson started the season at No. 7 in the USCHO Preseason Poll before dropping to No. 9 in this week's poll. The Golden Knights are coached by Matt Desrosiers entering his 18th season. Clarkson was voted to finish in third place in the ECAC Preseason Coaches' Poll. The Golden Knights return a core of veteran talent to their 2025-26 roster, including graduate student goaltender Holly Gruber.
Series History
The last time these two programs met was during the 2015-16 season for a two-game series in Potsdam, N.Y. Clarkson has won the last three straight meetings, and leads the all-time series, 4-1-1. UConn's lone win of the series came on October 9, 2010, 3-1 in Storrs.
