Huskies Defeated By No.14 Georgetown

WASHINGTON, D.C. – UConn men's soccer was defeated by No.14 Georgetown Hoyas, 4-1 on Saturday night at Shaw Field. The defeat dropped the Huskies to 7-3-3 on the season, and 2-2 in conference play.
The first half began with multiple chances from the Hoyas. Kyle Durham made two saves in the first five minutes to keep the match scoreless. UConn scored first, with Charlie Holmes finding the back of the net in the 14th minute to put the Huskies in front 1-0. Georgetown tied the score in the 28th minute on a penalty kick. The Hoyas peppered the net with six shots on goal in the first half, but Durham kept the score tied at 1-1 at the half.
UConn had two chances in the 49th minute, but Georgetown's Tezning Manske kept the Huskies at bay with two saves. The score remained deadlocked until the 74th minute, as Georgetown scored its second goal to go in front 2-1. The Hoyas padded their lead after a UConn own goal in the 81st minute. Georgetown added another goal in the 87th minute to defeat the Huskies 4-1.
