Huskies Return to Action at Moraine Intercollegiate

STORRS, CT – The UConn golf team jumps back into action as they take part in the Moraine Intercollegiate hosted by Miami University on Monday and Tuesday, October 13 and 14.
The Huskies are fresh off their win at the 2025 UConn Invitational at GreatHorse two weeks ago, the program's sixth victory at the annual event. UConn will head to Kettering, Ohio for the three round tournament being held at the Moraine Country Club.
The event will feature a lineup of teams from Dayton, Illinois, Michigan, Iowa, Ohio State, Penn State, VCU, Missouri, Rhode Island, Wright State, Bowling Green, Xavier and the host Red Hawks.
The UConn lineup will feature junior Bradley Sawka (Ellington, CT), who is coming off a tie for first place at the UConn Invite as well as being named the Connecticut State Golf Association 2025 Dick Tettelbach Player of the Year last week.
Sawka turned in his best-ever finish for UConn, tying for the tournament's top-spot after finishing four-under over the three days, with a score of 212 (71-67-74). His second round 67 was tied for the low round of the tournament. For Sawka it was his second-top five finish of the season. Through three tournaments this season, he is averaging 71.8 per round and finished in the top-20 in all three showings.
Senior Connor Goode (Glastonbury, CT), sophomores Matt Costello (Taunton, MA) and Caden Blanchette (Manchester, PA) and senior Colin Spencer (Mashpee, MA) will round out the tournament lineup.
Goode has had an great start to his season as well, averaging 72.3 per round with a pair of top-10 finishes. He is coming off a seventh place finish at the UConn Invite., shooting his low score of the season at 215.
Spencer put together a great tournament last time out playing as an individual, scoring a career low 217 (71-67-79) to take 13th. He shot a 67 on day two, his lowest score and tied for the lowest of the tournament. Blanchette found the top-20 for the second time this season last time out, shooting a 223 to take 19th.
Following this week's tournament the Huskies will have one more showing this fall as they take part in the Ka'anapali Collegiate Invitational in Maui, HI at the end of October.
