Huskies Wrap Play at Moraine Intercollegiate

KETTERING, OH - The UConn men's golf team wrapped up play at the 2025 Moraine Intercollegiate on Tuesday afternoon, finishing in 12th place.
The Huskies shot a three round total of 864 (+12) over the two days at the Moraine Country Club course in the event hosted by Miami University. The Huskies posted a rounds of 284 and 286 on Monday and finished Tuesday's final round at 294. Fellow BIG EAST member Xavier took home the team title at the event with a score of 832 to beat Illinois by three strokes and Missouri by four strokes for the trophy.
UConn was led by junior Bradley Sawka (Ellington, CT) and senior Connor Goode (Glastonbury, CT) who finished 24th and 28th, respectively. Sawka continued his strong play this fall, posting a 212 with a pair of rounds under par on the week. Sawka shot a three-under 68 and a 74 on Monday and finished the tournament with a 70 on Tuesday. His 212 matches his low tournament of the season and he now has played five rounds at par or better on the year.
Goode shot a 71 and 68 on Monday and finished the tournament with a 73 on Tuesday to come in one stroke behind his teammate at 213. His score marked his low tournament of the fall so far and he has also posted five rounds this season at par or better.
Rounding out the UConn lineup was sophomore Matt Costello (Taunton, MA) who tied for 55th with a score of 220 (73-71-76), sophomore Caden Blanchette (Manchester, PA) who tied for 66th with a score of 221 (74-72-75) and senior Colin Spencer (Mashpee, MA) who tied for 72nd with a score of 226 (72-77-77).
UConn will close out their fall season with one more tournament when the Huskies take part in the Ka'anapali Collegiate Invitational in Maui on October 27-29.
