WTEN Serve to Mercer Sunday and Valdosta State Monday

STORRS, Conn. - The University of Connecticut women's tennis team is set for a two-match road trip to Georgia going up against Mercer on Saturday, March 9 and Valdosta State on Monday, March 11.
The Huskies are 7-5 overall. Last time out, UConn faced a tough Boston University team falling 7-0 on Wednesday, March 6. This season, junior Isabel Petri Bere and first-year Caroline Hinshaw are both leading the way for the Huskies as Petri Bere boasts a 7-4 singles record and Hinshaw has a 7-5 singles record. As a doubles team, Petri Bere and Hinshaw have a team-best record of 8-4 playing at the second and third doubles positions.
Scouting Mercer and Valdosta State
Entering the matchups, Mercer has an overall record of 7-4. Last time out, the Bears fell to Florida State on the road falling 6-1 on Sunday, March 3. Leading the way for Mercer is Teodora Ristic has a singles record of 8-2 playing at the first singles record and in doubles play, Ristic has a 7-2 record at the first doubles position with teammate Marina de Diego Quinones.
This will be UConn's first-time playing Mercer in program history.
Valdosta State enters the matchup with an overall record of 2-4. Last time out, the Blazers fell in a tight match against No. 21 ranked Flagler College, dropping the match 4-3. Leading the way for Valdosta State is Danisa Hanakova with a 4-1 singles record playing at the second, third, and fourth singles positions.
This will also be UConn's first-time playing Valdosta State in program history.
