WSOC Draws At Villanova

VILLANOVA, Pa. - The UConn women's soccer team (8-4-4, 2-3-3 BIG EAST) earned a point on the road with a 0-0 draw at Villanova on Sunday afternoon at Higgins Soccer Complex.
The Huskies out shot the Wildcats 25-7 and had an 18-3 advantage in the second half and also had a 5-1 edge in corner kicks.Â
UConn secured its seventh shutout of the season with goalkeeper Kaitlyn Mahoney made four saves in the effort.
Chioma Okafor paced the offense with six shots including a pair on goal. Sophomores Alayna Taylor and Anaya Johnson each had four shots including a shot from Taylor that just went wide in the waning seconds of regulation.
Maddie Fried made her return to Villanova and had three shots for the Huskies.Â
The 0-0 draw is the third-straight 0-0 draw the Wildcats and Huskies have played to at Higgins Soccer Complex.
UConn wraps up the regular season with a pair of home games next week. Thursday, October 24th the Huskies play DePaul at 7 p.m. and then on Sunday, October 27 celebrate Senior Day against Seton Hall at 1 p.m.Â
