WSOC Plays Pivotal BIG EAST Match Thursday vs. DePaul

STORRS, Conn. - The UConn women's soccer team (8-4-4, 2-3-3 BIG EAST) hosts a pivotal BIG EAST match up against the DePaul Blue Demons (4-6-5, 2-2-3 BIG EAST) on Thursday night at Morrone Stadium (7 PM).

The Huskies and Blue Demons are currently tied with the Providence Friars for the sixth and final spot in the BIG EAST Tournament with the Friars and Blue Demons having three matches remaining and the Huskies with two.

The BIG EAST standings are bunched with third place Creighton just three points ahead while Butler sits two points in front in fourth and Villanova just one point ahead in fifth.

UConn is looking to get back in the win column after suffering a defeat to Butler last Thursday and tied Villanova this past Sunday.

Junior Chioma Okafor leads the BIG EAST with 11 goals on the season and now ranks third in the league in points with 24.

DePaul is coming off a 3-1 loss to Creighton after winning back-to-back matches against Georgetown and Seton Hall. The Blue Demons are led by Freya Jupp, who has scored four goals this season.
