FH Falls to Villanova Wildcats

VILLANOVA, Pa. – The UConn field hockey team (4-7, 1-2) fell to the Villanova Wildcats, 2-1, on Friday evening on the road.
Villanova put a point on the board early into the first period, just sneaking the ball past freshman goalkeeper, Natalie McKenna. The game remained the same, 1-0, through the rest of the first and second periods as the teams headed into halftime.
Grad transfer, Belle Bressler, notched the first and only goal for the Huskies in the third period of the game. This goal marks two games in a row where the veteran defender has scored. Late into the third period, with less than two minutes on the game clock, the Wildcats scored their second and final goal of the game. The final period remined scoreless, despite five penalty corner attempts for the Huskies. Ultimately, the Wildcats walked away with the win.
UConn will head to Quinnipiac next Friday to take on the Bobcats in another BIG EAST conference matchup. The game is set for 3:00pm on FloSports.
