UConn Kicks Off Trip to FL with Big East Matchup Against Creighton

STORRS, Conn. - The University of Connecticut women's tennis team kicks off the trip to Orlanda, Fla. facing a Big East matchup against Creighton at USTA National Campus on Friday.
Entering the matchup, UConn stands at 7-2 overall and 1-0 in Big East action. Back on Mar. 1 the Huskies closed out the indoor season with an undefeated home indoor record and with a 5-2 win over Quinnipiac.
Last time out, UConn got off to a quick start earning the doubles point at first and second doubles. Then, the Huskies would rattle off four out of the six singles points to secure the victory after a 6-3, 6-3 clinch by Aleksandra Karamyshev at third singles. Cameron Didion would top it off with a second set tiebreak win at six singles.
Scouting the Bluejays
Heading into the matchup, Creighton is 11-3 overall and 2-2 in Big East play. The Bluejays are 3-1 this week in Orlando with a split in Big East matchups winning 4-3 over Villanova and dropping to Butler 4-3. For Creighton, Malvika Shukla went 2-0 in straight sets for both matches at the top singles position.
