No. 6 FH Hosts No. 15 Rutgers Friday in Home Opener

STORRS, Conn. - The No. 6 UConn field hockey team plays its third-straight ranked opponent as it hosts No.15 Rutgers at the George Sherman Family Sports Complex on Friday night at 6 p.m.
The Huskies home opener comes after a 1-1 weekend out in Chicago against No. 4 Northwestern and No. 21 Miami (OH).Â
UConn dropped its season opener to the Wildcats 4-0 but responded the next day with a 2-1 win against the Redhawks that included goals from McKenna Sergi and Erica Solomen.
Cheyenne Sprecher earned BIG EAST weekly honor roll accolades after making 14 saves in the first two games of the season.
The Huskies will then travel to UMass Lowell for a 3 p.m. start against the River Hawks on Sunday, September 5.Â
