BSB Prepares for three-game set with Rhode Island

STORRS, Conn. - The UConn baseball team resumes its longest rivalry with Rhode Island this weekend in Storrs with a three-game series. The Huskies and Rams first started playing in the first year of UConn baseball in 1896.
The Huskies (7-11) are 116-68-5 all-time against Rhode Island and will play them once more after this weekend during a midweek game in May.
UConn has won three of its last four and are coming off its first game at Elliot Ballpark. The Huskies won 2-0 against CCSU with five pitchers combining on the third shutout of the year for UConn.
The Rams are 9-7-1 and coming off a 7-7 tie against Bryant in the midweek. Rhode Island has played early non-conference series at ECU, Old Dominion, UMass Lowell and Charlotte.Â
 The Huskies are 2-2 against A-10 opponents this year with a loss against Davidson at Coastal Carolina and won a series at St. Joseph's on the road last weekend.
This is the first weekend series against a New England opponent since winning three-of-four from UMass Lowell to open the 2017 season.
