Huskies Take on Providence in Weekend Series

STORRS, Conn. – The UConn women's volleyball team (2-4, 2-2) will head to Providence, Rhode Island to take on the Providence College Friars (3-1, 1-1) on Friday, March 12th at 6:00pm and Saturday, March 13th at 4:00pm.
Last Time Out
The Huskies are coming off a three weekend in Pennsylvania last time out where they took on Villanova and Temple. UConn split the series with Villanova (L, 3-1 and W, 3-1) and dropped the weekend finale at Temple (3-1).
Providence enters the weekend after splitting last weekend's series with Seton Hall. The Friars dropped the first match 3-2 before winning the second 3-0.
Scouting the Friars
Providence is led by sophomores Emma Nelson and Jennifer Leitman who have tallied 58 and 53 kills on the season, respectively. Senior Allison Barber leads the team with 158 assists on the year so far. The Friars have only played two conference matches this season, holding a 1-1 record in Big East action.
Leading the Pack
Junior Caylee Parker leads the Huskies with 90 kills on the season at 3.75 kills per set. Redshirt junior Courtney Morris has a team-high 114 assists and 6.39 assists per set. Sophomore Aset Baker-Falealili boasts a team leading 93 digs and 3.88 digs pet set. As a team, UConn has also recorded 38 service aces in six matches this season.
Up Next
The Huskies will have some time between matches with the next series coming on March 26th and 27th in Storrs. Both matches are scheduled to begin at 6:00pm.
