Twelve Huskies Score in Big Win Over Quinnipiac

STORRS, Conn. – Twelve different Huskies found the back of the net on Friday afternoon as the UConn women's lacrosse team defeated Quinnipiac 21-4 at the Sherman Family Complex. The Huskies improve to 4-1 on the season while the Bobcats fall to 1-3. UConn has now scored at least 20 goals in its last three games.
Sophomore Lia LaPrise led the team in scoring on Friday afternoon with one goal and six assists. She is now tied for the second most assists in a game in UConn lacrosse history with Shannon Burke, who recorded six assists three times in the 2007 season. LaPrise leads the Huskies with 29 points on the season.
Junior Sydney Watson tallied four goals, giving her a team-high 22 on the year, and added nine draw controls. Fellow junior Stephanie Palmucci added four goals of her own and grabbed a helper for a five point afternoon. Watson and Palmucci join LaPrise as the leading point producers so far this season with 24 and 20 points, respectively.
Senior Grace Beshlian made nine first half saves to pick up the win. Sophomore Landyn White and junior Annie Carroll saw second half action, combing for four saves on the afternoon.
Sophomores Casey O'Grady and Grace Coon and junior Olivia Troy each added two goals to the UConn offense. The Huskies balanced attack saw six others players score. Returning members senior Olivia Miles, junior Sam McKenna, and sophomore Jordan Coulon found the back of the net Friday afternoon. Freshmen Kyra Place and Madelyn George also scored while fellow freshman Kate Shaffer tallied her first career collegiate goal in the win.

The Huskies return to the Sherman Family Complex for Alumni Day on Saturday, March 7th to host the University of Massachusetts. Opening draw is scheduled for 1:00pm.
