PHILADELPHIA - The UConn women's swimming and diving team lost at Villanova 179-119 on Saturday afternoon.
"Overall it was a another meet where we raced hard and come through with some solid times at this time of year," said head coach Chris Maiello. "Swimming the 1650 and 400 IM in the same program definitely challenged our team. Give credit to Villanova, they swam great today and deserved the win on the women's side."
With no rest, after swimming last weekend on Senior Day, the Huskies willed their way to a few season-best times. Katelyn Walsh took first place in the 100 Breaststroke with a time of 1:04.73.Â
Mia Galat earned a season-best time of 5:05.56 to take third place in the 500 Free behind teammate Ryan Dulaney (2nd, 5:05.28).
Junior Erin Clifford shined on the boards by winning the 3M (273.90)Â event and taking silver in the 1M (262.05).
Anna Mecca garnered a season-best race in the 200 Breaststroke by swimming the event in 2:24.46.
The Huskies return to action next week at the Husky Invite on Saturday, February 1.
