WSOC Opens American Conference Play at Dillon

STORRS, Conn. - The UConn women's soccer team begins the next chapter of its season with the start of American Athletic Conference play on Thursday, Sept 26 at 7 p.m. against ECU at Dillon Stadium. The Huskies will wrap up opening weekend in the conference with a Sunday, Sept. 29 matchup against Cincinnati at 1 p.m. Tickets are available HERE.Â
UConn enters with a 4-3-1 overall record and are coming off a thrilling 2-1 overtime victory against UMass Lowell to capture the team's first road win of the season. Kess Elmore launched a 40-yard game-winning goal to lift the Huskies to its first extra-time win of the season.
The Huskies finished 2-7 in The American including a 4-0 win at Cincinnati. UConn was picked in the preseason to finish seventh in The American Conference standings.
Thursday's contest is Huskies and Heroes Night that includes complimentary tickets for all service members that bring military identification. Along with a camo hat giveaway upon entering the stadium.
Thursday is also Jersey Night, all kids in 12th grade or under will receive a complimentary ticket if they are wearing a jersey.
For UConn students, the match against ECU is Student Night. All students should wear blue and there wil be a student scarf giveaway along with face paint.
Sunday's contest features CT Youth Club Soccer Appreciation Day, with patches given to all kids.Â
