No. 3 Huskies Edged By No. 11 Michigan

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The No. 3 UConn field hockey team (4-1) had its first loss of the season as the Huskies narrowly fell to No. 11 Michigan (3-2), 3-2, Friday evening.
Senior Svea Boker and sophomore Maddy Wray each scored vs. the Wolverines.
Michigan took a 2-0 lead in the first half. Boker pulled within one at the 37:55 mark with a reverse chip shot.
With less than five minutes in the game, Michigan added another goal. With just 44 seconds left in the contest, Wray tapped the ball into the net near the right post. The Huskies were unable to equalize in the remaining seconds.
Redshirt sophomore Cheyenne Sprecher finished the game with four saves.
Both teams has 11 shots in the game. All three of UConn's penalty corners came in the fourth quarter.
The Huskies are back in action Sunday at No. 25 Michigan State at 11 a.m.
