BSB Faces Wichita State In Winner's Bracket

CLEARWATER, Fla. - The UConn baseball team (34-22) returns to actions in The American Baseball Championship on Thursday, May 23 at 3 p.m. against eighth-seeded Wichita State.Â
The Huskies are coming off a walk-off win in the opening game of the tournament against fifth-seeded Houston. David Langer sent the Huskies into the winner's bracket with a two-out RBI single into center to end the ballgame, 4-3.
UConn will send its ace, Mason Feole to the mound on Thursday to make his 43rd career start. The left-hander is 19-9 overall with a 3.06 ERA in over 250 innings of work. Feole is three strikeouts away from tying former teammate Tim Cate for the all-time strikeout record at UConn.
The Huskies won two-of-three against the Shockers in Hartford to start the month of May. UConn is 6-2 all-time against Wichita State and are 1-0 in Clearwater against the Shockers after defeating them to advance to the semifinals in 2018.
