Sydney Watson Tabbed to IWLCA D1 All-Northeast Region Second Team

STORRS, Conn. – Sophomore midfielder Sydney Watson earned All-Northeast Region Second Team honors, as announced by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) on Tuesday afternoon. This is Watson's second consecutive nod to the regional second team after garnering the distinction in 2018.
The IWLCA has honored 128 student-athletes in Division I with a selection to one of the All-Region teams for 2019. These student-athletes are now eligible to be named to a national IWLCA All-American team. The IWLCA will celebrate the 2019 All-Americans during Divisional All-American Specials, which will be aired on Lax Sports Network in mid-June.
Following a breakout freshman year campaign, Watson turned in another outstanding season as a sophomore. The Prince Frederick, Md. native led the Huskies in goals (39), points (51) and draw controls (92) – shattering the single-season program record for draw controls she set during the 2018 season.
