Three From Women’s Lacrosse Earn AAC All-Conference Honors

STORRS, Conn. – Three UConn women's lacrosse standouts were recognized with year-end AAC All-Conference honors, headlined by sophomore midfielder Sydney Watson, who was a unanimous First Team All-Conference selection.
In addition to Watson, junior midfielder Olivia Miles and freshman midfielder Lia LaPrise earned nods to the All-Conference Second Team for their respective performances during the 2019 season.
Following a breakout freshman campaign, Watson turned in another solid season, leading the team in scoring 51 points on 39 goals and 12 assists. A native of Prince Frederick, Md., Watson was first in the American in draw controls per game (5.4), fourth in goals per game (2.29) and fifth in points per game (3.0).
LaPrise made a splash during her first season in the navy and white, ending the year second on the team in scoring after racking up 20 goals and a team-high 17 assists for 37 points. Honored as the AAC Freshman of the Week for April 30, the Windsor, Conn. native ranked third on the team with 25 ground balls and seventh in the AAC after averaging one assist per contest.
Miles, who started in all 14 games she appeared in, provided a steady presence in the midfield over the course of the season. Miles, who hails from Watertown, N.Y., ranked third on the team in points (32) after tallying 26 goals and dishing out six assists.
