STORRS, Conn. – The UConn women's lacrosse team announced its complete schedule for the 2020 campaign. The Huskies will have eight regular season home games at the Sherman Family Sports Complex and will hit the road for the remaining eight games of the season.
UConn enters its second and final season as a member of the American Athletic Conference, with a move back to the Big East coming next spring.
"I think for us, we are really excited to be back in season and playing games. It's our last year in the American and the team is really excited to put together a solid product that's going to compete to be in the conference tournament and compete for a championship," said Head Coach Katie Woods.
UConn's spring schedule is a challenging one, facing two teams that finished in the top-20 last season, including the 2018 national champions James Madison. The Huskies open the season at home on February 12 when they host Fairfield before heading the US Lacrosse Headquarters to take on JMU, the national champion from two seasons ago, on February 16.
The month of March holds six contests for the Huskies, three at home and three on the road. UConn will have its first American Conference test on March 28, when the Cincinnati Bearcats come to Storrs. Conference play continues for the Huskies as April begins, with a road game against Temple slated for April 4. East Carolina comes to town on April 10 for another AAC showdown. The Huskies close out regular season conference play when they host Vanderbilt on April 19 for senior day at the Sherman Family Sports Complex.
The Huskies close out the regular season with an away matchup against a top-20 and NCAA Tournament team from a year ago, the Florida Gators, in Gainesville on April 25.
The 2019 American Athletic Conference Championship will include the top four teams in the standings, with the semifinals slated for April 30 and the Championship Game on May 2. The AAC Tournament will be played in Gainesville, Florida.
