SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The UConn men's soccer team came into Tuesday's match looking to keep the momentum rolling after locking up its first AAC win Saturday night; however, the Orange were the ones to come out on top as they handed the Huskies a 1-0 loss at the SU Soccer Stadium.
The Orange dictated play in the first half, outshooting the Huskies 7-1 during the first 45 minutes of the contest despite being tied 0-0 at the half.
UConn nearly struck for the game's first goal in the 53', but freshman Thomas Decottignies' shot attempt was saved by the Syracuse keeper.
The Orange would breakthrough on the scoreboard shortly after, as Sondre Norheim would convert a header of a corner kick at the 54:12 mark to give Syracuse a one-goal advantage that they wouldn't relinquish to take the 1-0 win.
