Women’s Hockey Hits the Road for Weekend Showdown at Maine

STORRS, Conn. – The UConn women's hockey team looks to get back in the win column this weekend, traveling to Orono, ME for the final two games of the season series against the Maine Black Bears. Both games are set for a 2 p.m. puck drop.

Opponent and Series History…
- UConn leads the all-time series, 33-16-7. The Huskies took the first matchup back on Nov. 10, 4-1.
- Maine enters the weekend with a 13-10-2 overall record and a 6-10-2 mark in WHEA competition. The Black Bears are back on home ice after giving up four points on the road at Merrimack last weekend. They were shut out by the Warriors, 3-0, in their first meeting, and fell, 3-1, in game two.
- Tereza Vanisova is the leading goal scorer with 14 tallies on the season. Celine Tedenby paces the Black Bears with 11 assists.
- In her 19 starts, Carly Jackson holds a 8-9-2 record, and boasts a 1.89 goals-against average and a .927 save percentage.
Last Time Out…
The Huskies are coming off an 0-2 weekend after dropping both games of a home and home series with #3 Northeastern. They fell, 5-2, on the road, before giving up a 4-1 decision at home.
Leading the Pack…
Chris Mackenzie enters his sixth season as the coach of the Huskies. Mackenzie has been an instrumental part in turning the program around and in 2015-16, Mackenzie coached UConn to their first winning season since 2010.
