Trio of Huskies Earn IWLCA Academic Honors

STORRS, Conn. - The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Association (IWLCA) has named UConn as one of 300 schools across Division I, II, III, and NAIA as IWLCA Zag Sports Academic Honor Squads for the 2016-17 academic year as announced on Wednesday.
In order to earn the distinction, schools are required to have a cumulative team grade-point average of 3.0 or higher.
In addition, senior Maggie Tripodi (Syracuse, N.Y.) earned her second consecutive IWLCA honor, while classmates Jacqueline Jordan (Los Gatos, Calif.) and Jessie Beer (Berwyn, Pa.) were tabbed to the IWLCA's Division I Academic Honor Roll for the first time in their careers. The trio were joined by 388 student-athletes at 99 different institutions also recognized on the 2017 IWLCA Zag Sports Division I Academic Honor Roll.
To be eligible for recognition, student-athletes must be at least a junior academically and had a cumulative GPA or 3.50 or greater.
Tripodi graduated this past May with her Master's in Communication, while Jordan and Beer received their degrees in Business and Management Information Systems and Sport Management, respectively.
