PROVIDENCE, R.I. - University of Connecticut junior Kelsey Maving has been named the BIG EAST Volleyball Player of the Week for the week ending October 30.
Maving, a libero from Tonawanda N.Y., became the second Husky in three weeks to earn the league's highest weekly honor. She posted a new program single-game record with 40 digs in a five-set victory over Notre Dame on Saturday. For the weekend, Maving totaled 66 digs averaging 7.33 per set in a 2-0 weekend for UConn. She also tied a career-high with five assists in a 3-1 win over DePaul on Sunday.
On the season, Maving has 478 digs and ranks third in the conference averaging 5.31 per set.
The Huskies return to action for their final home stand of the season as West Virginia and Pittsburgh visit Gampel Pavilion for matches on November 4 and 6.
