Maving Earns All-Tournament Honor
Sophomore Kelsey Maving was named to the Active Ankle Challenge All-Tournament Team last weekend after leading the Huskies with 59 digs (5.90 digs per set). Maving also tallied five assists, two service aces and a kill throughout the tournament.
Husky "D"
Over the first two weeks of action, the Huskies have held their opponents to just a .135 hitting percentage, the lowest in the BIG EAST. This is due to the blocking efforts of Allison Nickel and Morgan Freeman who lead UConn with 19 blocks each this season, and the 108 digs that Kelsey Maving has recorded during the first six matches. West Virginia is second in the conference with a .140 opponent hitting percentage while Louisville is third with .149.
Maving Leads BIG EAST
Kelsey Maving continues to make an impact on the Husky defense, leading the BIG EAST with 5.68 digs per set. Maving has led UConn in digs in each match this year, with a season-high of 26 coming against Duquesne last weekend. The 26 digs also marks the second highest match total of her career, behind her 33 dig effort against UC Irvine last season.
