The UConn men's hockey squad will travel to Waltham, Mass. on Friday, November 19 to face Bentley. The Huskies will turn around and host American International on Saturday in Freitas Ice Forum. Both games will start at 7:05 p.m.
The Huskies will look to rebound with a pair of Atlantic Hockey contests after falling to conference foe RIT in two games last weekend. The Huskies stand at 2-3-3 on the season with a 2-2-1 mark in the Atlantic Hockey Association.
UConn is led offensively by a trio of underclassmen. Freshman Cole Schneider (Williamsville, N.Y.) leads all players with seven points and three goals. Sophomores Sean Ambrosie (Moorhead, Minn.) and Miles Winter (Horsham, Pa.) rank second on the team with six points each. Ambrosie has totaled two goals and four assists while Winter has recorded one goal and a team-high five helpers.
Sophomore Garrett Bartus (St. Charles, Ill.) has started every game this season. He owns a 3.50 goals against average to go along with a .904 save percentage.
The Huskies stand at 42-36-8 all-time against the Yellow Jackets from AIC. Last season, UConn swept AIC in two games played at Freitas Ice Forum by scores of 4-1 and 3-1.AIC comes into the weekend with a 1-5-0 mark having played all six games against conference opponents. The Yellow Jackets have started sophomore goaltender Ben Meisner in five of six games played. He comes into this weekend with a 4.28 goals against average and a .901 save percentage.
On offense, AIC is led by sophomores Adam Pleskach and Jeff Ceccacci with five points. Pleskach leads the team with two goals while adding three assists. Ceccacci has totaled five assists to lead the Yellow Jackets.
UConn owns a 21-13-3 all-time mark against Bentley, including a 2-1 victory at Bentley in last season's Atlantic Hockey Opening Round. In that game, senior Justin Hernandez (Farmington Hills, Mich.) netted the game-winning goal late in the first period.
The Falcons stand at 2-5-1 overall with a 1-2-0 mark in conference action. Bentley senior goaltender Joe Calvi has started five games while boasting a 3.02 goals against average and a .922 save percentage.
Senior Erik Peterson leads the squad with four goals and seven points.
