MHOC Announces 2026-27 Incoming Class

STORRS, Conn. - The UConn men's hockey team has announced their incoming class for the 2025-26 season. The class is composed of one transfer student and nine freshmen.
Jeremy Loranger, Trois-Rivières, Quebec, 5-9, University of Nebraska-Omaha (NCHC)
Comes to UConn after one season at Nebraska-Omaha, where he appeared in 28 games, scoring seven goals with 12 assists for 19 total points... Prior to Omaha, won BCHL MVP and Rookie of the Year honors with the Sherwood Park Crusaders, scoring 48 goals with 71 assists for 119 total points in 62 games... Was selected by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the 2025 NHL Draft (7th round, 198th overall).
Charlie Morrison, Miramichi, New Brunswick, 6-3, Quebec Remparts (QMJHL)
Morrison comes to Storrs after two seasons with the QMJHL's Quebec Remparts... Appeared in 41 games last season, scoring four goals with nine assists for 13 total points... In his two seasons, Morrison helped lead the Remparts to the playoffs where he appeared in 14 total games scoring two goals with three assists for five points… Finished his career in the QMJHL with six goals and 22 assists for 28 total points. Following the 2025-26 season, Morrison was selected 77th overall in the 2026 NHL draft by the New York Rangers (3rd round, 77th pick).
William McIsaac, Vancouver, British Columbia, 6-3, Spokane Chiefs (WHL)
Comes to UConn after five seasons in the WHL with the Spokane Chiefs, where he served as a team captain his final two seasons. Appeared in 66 games for the 2025-26 season, scoring eight goals with 26 assists for 34 total points... In his career with the Spokane Chiefs, McIsaac appeared in 265 total games scoring 22 total goals with 87 assists for 109 total points… Was selected by the St. Louis Blues in the 2024 NHL Draft (5th round, 145th pick).
Colin Frank, Ladera Ranch, California, 5-8, Dubuque Fighting Saints (USHL)
Comes to Storrs following three seasons with the USHL's Dubuque Fighting Saints, where he served as an alternate captain for the 2025-26 season... Led the Fighting Saints with 33 goals last season, more than doubling his previous year's total, while adding to his point total as well... Finished his career in the USHL with 166 total games played scoring 55 goals with 55 assists for 110 total points…Represented team USA at the World Junior A Challenge in 2025 in addition to competing in the 2023 Hlinka Gretzky Cup.
Brittan Alstead, Plymouth, Minnesota, 5-9, Penticton Vees (WHL)
Comes to UConn after one season in the WHL with the Penticton Vees… Appeared in 67 games scoring 22 goals with 36 assists for 58 total points. Helped lead the Vees to the playoffs where he appeared in 15 games scoring two goals with two assists for four points… Prior to his time in the WHL, Alstead spent one season in the USHL with the Des Moines Buccaneers... Appeared in 59 total games scoring 11 goals with 16 assists for 27 total points with the Buccaneers.
Cole Davis, Sutton, Ontario, 5-10, Windsor Spitfires (OHL)
Comes to Storrs after three seasons with the OHL's Windsor Spitfires... In the 2025-26 season, Davis appeared in 56 games, scoring 18 goals with 14 assists for 32 total points, before elevating his game in the playoffs, scoring five goals with seven assists for 12 total points in 13 postseason games… For his career with the Spitfires, Davis appeared in 181 total games, scoring 60 goals with 60 assists for 120 total points.
Lirim Amidovski, Alliston, Ontario, 6-1, North Bay Battalion (OHL)
Comes to UConn after three seasons in the OHL with the North Bay Battalion… Was selected as a team captain for the 2025-26 season where he appeared in 65 games scoring 25 goals with 23 assists for 48 total points… In his three seasons Amidovski helped lead the Battalion to three straight playoffs where he appeared in 31 total games scoring six goals with one assist for seven points…Was selected by the Minnesota Wild in the 2025 NHL Draft (4th round 121st overall).
Veeti Louhivaara, Jyväskylä, Finland, 6-4, Chicago Steel (USHL)
Comes to Storrs after spending a season in the USHL with the Chicago Steel of the USHL... Appeared in 22 games for the Steel, going 12-6-4 with 2.06 goals against average and a .905 save percentage... Additionally Louhivaara competed with the Finland U20 team where he appeared in one game with a 2.82 goals against average and a .885 save percentage… Was selected by the New Jersey Devils in the 2024 NHL Draft (5th round, 146th overall).
Jesse Heslop, Nanaimo, British Columbia, 5-11, Everett Silvertips (WHL)
Comes to UConn after four seasons with the WHL's Everett Silvertips. Was named a team captain for the 2025-26 season where he appeared in 62 total games with 15 goals and 41 assists for 56 total points. In all four seasons the Silvertips made the playoffs where Heslop appeared in 43 total games with seven goals and 15 assists for 22 total points... Recorded at least 40 points in each of his four seasons, including 60-plus points (including playoffs) in each of the last two, while helping Everett win the 2026 WHL championship…
Jacob Reese, Boston, New York, 6-0, Sarnia Sting (OHL)
Comes to Storrs after one season with the OHL's Sarnia Sting... Appeared in 66 total games scoring five goals with 15 assists for 20 total points... Prior to his time with the Sting, Rees spent time with the Rochester Jr. Americans of the NAHL where he appeared in 69 games with one goal and 10 assists for 11 total points.
