Three Huskies Named To Atlantic Hockey Honor Roll

It was announced today by the Atlantic Hockey Association that freshman forward Cole Schneider (Williamsville, N.Y.), sophomore goaltender Garrett Bartus (St. Charles, Ill.) and senior defenseman Brian Reagan (Ballwin, Mo.) have all been named to the Atlantic Hockey Honor Roll. The three players led UConn to its first victory of the season in the Atlantic Hockey opener against Army on Saturday, October 23. UConn defeated the Black Knights, 3-2.
Schneider put home two goals, including the game winner, to lead the Huskies. He evened the score at 1-1 1:02 into the third period before tallying the game winner at 13:09 of the final stanza. Schneider finished the game with a plus-3 rating and a game-high six shots on goal.
Reagan had a career night with three points on a goal and an assist. Reagan scored in the second period to put UConn ahead, 2-1. The senior defender tallied assists on UConn's opening goal and the game winner late in the third period. He finished the game with a plus-2 rating.
Bartus was solid in goal for the Huskies yet again, stopping 35 shots in the victory. Bartus came up with 14 saves in the first period and 13 saves in the final stanza to keep the Huskies ahead. On the season, Bartus stands at 1-1-1 with a .888 save percentage.
UConn will be in action next when it travels to Schenectady, N.Y. to face No. 16/13 Union on Thursday, October 28. The puck is set to drop at 7:05 p.m.
