Lacrosse Hosts Second Consecutive Ivy League Opponent on Saturday

The University of Connecticut lacrosse team in the midst of its season-high five game homestand hosts its second-consecutive Ivy League opponent on Saturday. The Huskies look past their 14-12 loss to Harvard toward a 1 p.m. contest against Brown at George J. Sherman-Family Sports Complex.
Whitney Michele (East Rochester, N.Y) scored four second-half goals in UConn's comeback bid against the Crimson. It was the second time this season that Michele has scored four goals in the latter have a contest. Her four goals helped the Huskies (0-8) outscore Harvard 6-3 in the second half closing the halftime 11-6 deficit. Ashley Mitchelides (Hudson, Ohio) and Kiersten Tupper (Camillus, N.Y.) added a goal each in the second half of the game. Michele led all scorers with eight points after recording three assists in the game, including assists on back-to-back Connecticut goals.
On the opposite side of the field, Anna Wallingford (Littleton, Colo.) made 13 saves in her third start of the season. The freshman goalie has played in six of eight games this season.
Brown (3-2) is coming of an Ivy League season-opening win over UConn's last opponent, Harvard. The Bears defeated the Crimson 12-8 on March 14 after starting the season with an even 2-2 record.
Those interested 13 years of age and under will be able to participate in a post-game lacrosse clinic with the Huskies. Following a cool down period, members of the 2009 Connecticut lacrosse team will conduct the clinic on the turf of Sherman Sports Complex.
