Women's Swimming and Diving Drops Dual Meets to Yale

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (February 9, 2008) - The University of Connecticut men's and women's swimming and diving teams dropped dual meets to Yale Saturday. The men's team was defeated by a score of 199-99. The women's team fell by a score of 164.5-133.5.
The UConn women's team was led by Courtney Haney (Mesa, Ariz.), who won the 100 (1:05.52) and was second in the 200 breaststroke (2:19.12), while Lisa Shelps (Quakertown, Pa.) won the 100 back (58.63) and the 200 IM (2:08.44).
Senior Allison Coleman (New Canaan, Conn.) won both the one-meter (257.02) and three-meter (275.32) diving events.
The UConn men were led by Adrian Astiz (Bethesda, Md.), who won the 200 IM in 1:56.84 and Alex Davidson (Pointe-Claire, Quebec), who won the 200 back in 1:50.87.
The Huskies are back in action on February 20-23 when they participate in the BIG EAST Championship at the Nassau County Aquatic Center in East Meadow, N.Y.
