Husky Rowing Competes Against Colgate, Buffalo and Eastern Michigan

LIVERPOOL, N.Y. (April 20, 2007) -- The University of Connecticut rowing team took part in a meet with Buffalo, Colgate and Eastern Michigan on Friday morning and afternoon.
The UConn Novice Eight boat won their race in a time of 7:06.4 topping Buffalo (7:13.3) and Eastern Michigan (7:33.5). In Lightweight Four action, UConn won in 7:51.0 ahead of Buffalo (7:59.4) and the Buffalo B team (8:09.7).
In Varsity Eight action, UConn lost to Colgate in the morning 6:54.5 to 7:02.8, but came back to beat Eastern Michigan in the afternoon (7:41.3 to 7:51.1). In Junior Varsity Eight action, UConn lost to Colgate in an early race (7:17.2 to 7:38.0) and in an afternoon race, the Buffalo Lightweight Eight (7:56.7) topped Eastern Michigan (8:03.5) and UConn (8:14.6).
In Novice Eight action, the Huskies lost to Colgate in the morning (8:19.0 to 8:24.8) and finished second in an afternoon race at 9:18.0 to Buffalo (9:08.9), but topped Eastern Michigan (9:49.0).
UConn returns to action on Sunday, April 29, for the BIG EAST Championship at Worcester, Mass.
