Smith and DeVinney Represent Women's Swimming at Spring Championships

FEDERAL WAY, Wash. (March 29, 2006) - Senior Ryan Smith (Mechanicsburg, Pa.) and freshman Katie DeVinney (Avondale, Ariz.) both took part in the action on the second day of competition at the 2006 USA Swimming Spring Championships.
In the 200 butterfly preliminaries DeVinney finished in 22nd place (2:19.58) making the cut of 24 to the finals. Her time of 2:20.36 in the finals later that evening tied her for a 22nd place finish.
Smith's lone performance of the day came in the 200 backstroke where she placed 47th with a time of 2:26.48.
Both DeVinney and Smith will return to the pool on Friday, March 31 for their final events of the meet.
