Huskies Enjoy Good Showing on the Connecticut River

HARTFORD, CT (October 5) – The University of Connecticut women’s rowing team had three top three finishes in four races at the Riverfront Recapture race on the Connecticut River on Sunday morning.
In the Varsity Eight race, 15 boats competed with Coast Guard taking first place in a time of 16:46. UConn followed in second place (17:06) and Trinity placed third (17:30). In the Novice Eight race, 12 boats competed with Tufts finishing in first in a time of 18:57. Mount Holyoke ended in second (20:14), Trinity in third (20:29) and UConn took fourth in a time of 20:49.
The Junior Varsity race featured 11 crews. Smith College took first place (18:01), Williams ended in second place (10:10) and Connecticut held onto third place in a time of 18:18. The last race, the Varsity Four competition, raced 11 crews. Williams College was the first place winner in a time of 20:30, Trinity was second (20:45), UConn A placed third (20:49) and UConn B took a sixth place finish (21:26).
