Wallack Joins UConn as New Assistant Coach

Storrs, CT (June 10) – Kyle Wallack, former assistant coach for the men’s ice hockey program at Quinnipiac University, has been named the new assistant men’s ice hockey coach at the University of Connecticut, as announced by head coach Bruce Marshall. Wallack makes the jump from MAAC rival school Quinnipiac University where he has spent the last three seasons.
While at Quinnipiac, Wallack was instrumental in recruiting and the development of the goaltenders. In his three years at Quinnipiac, Wallack helped coach the team to a 65-29-12 overall record and three MAAC Tournament berths, including the 2002 MAAC Championship in which the team earned an automatic bid the NCAA Tournament. He also served as an assistant coach at Nichols College and the University of Delaware before arriving at Quinnipiac in 1999.
A native of West Hartford, CT, Wallack earned a B.S. in Movement and Sport Studies with a concentration in physical education and coaching from Springfield College in 1997. Wallack was a four-year starting goaltender for the Chiefs’ hockey squad, captaining the team as a senior in 1996-97.
Wallack has also gained coaching experience with the Connecticut Junior Coyotes “A” Hockey Club as its goaltender coach from 1995-1997.
