Huskies Complete First Day Action at Dad Vail

PHILADELPHIA, PA (May 10) – The University of Connecticut women’s rowing team advanced three boats into the semifinal rounds in the first day of competition at the Dad Vail Regatta in Philadelphia.
The Women’s Varsity Eight team placed second in its race finishing behind Lehigh in a time of 6:47.6. The team then advanced to the Women’s Varsity Eight Repechage race, placing first in a time of 7:31.6, to earn a spot in the semifinal race. The Varsity Four team ended in fifth place (8:07.3), behind Toronto and Northwestern.
The Novice Four boat earned a fourth place finish in its race behind Loyola (8:17.3) and Purdue (8:26.3). The Novice Eight and Junior Varsity Eight boats advanced to their respective semifinal races, both finishing second. The Novice Eight squad ended behind Purdue in a time of 7:30.7, while the Junior Varsity Eight boat followed UMass Amherst in a time of 7:32.6.
Connecticut will complete its season in the final day action of the Dad Vail in Philadelphia, PA.
