UConn's Second Varsity Eight Squad Claims Victory

WEST POINT, NY (April 20) – The Second Varsity Eight boat of the University of Connecticut women’s rowing team was the only winner in the Huskies meet against Army on Saturday afternoon.
The Second Varsity Eight squad finished in a time of 7:17.6, followed by Army in a time of 7:54.0.The Varsity Eight boat came in second (6:38.0) behind Army (6:34.7).
The closest race of the day was the Novice Eight. Army took first only by a tenth of a second in a time of 7:07.0, while UConn was just behind ending in 7:07.87. Army also took first place in the Novice Four race. The Black Knights ended in a time of 8:37.21, while completed the race in a time of 8:53.82. The last race of the day was the Varsity Four, in which UConn raced two boats. Army came in first (7:31.32), followed by UConn A (7:40.65) and UConn JV (8:13.56).
The Huskies will next compete next at Marist on Sunday, April 21.
