Huskies Compete at the Knect Cup

CAMDEN, NJ (April 13) – The University of Connecticut women’s rowing team competed the Knect Cup in Camden, NJ on Saturday afternoon.
UConn placed second in the Freshmen Novice Four race in a time of 8:52.4, right behind URI (8:37.12). The second Women’s Varsity four race placed UConn in second place in a time of 8:18.6, behind Fordham (8:17.8). Placing after UConn was Temple, Duquesne and NY Maritime.
Kansas won the Women’s Varsity Eight race in a time of 6:46.61, followed by Lehigh (6:50.61), Buffalo and UConn tied (7:03.8) and Temple (7:12.4). The second Varsity Eight race saw UConn placing second (7:39.11), behind Kansas (7:17.10).
After winning its heat in the Women’s Novice Eight race, the Huskies went on to place fourth in the day’s finals, ending in a time of 7:25.3. UMass took first place, followed by Buffalo, Villanova, UConn, Boston College and Army.
