Rowing Team Sweeps Southern Opponents

MIAMI, FL – The University of Connecticut women’s rowing team swept its competition in the first meet of the season against Barry University and Jacksonville on Saturday afternoon in Miami, FL.
The UConn Novice squad won the Women’s Second Varsity Eight race in a time of 7:46.2, followed by UConn’s Varsity Eight B team (749:4). Barry University claimed third place.
UConn also claimed the Varsity Eight race in a time of 7:21, followed by Barry (7:46.2) and Jacksonville (747.3). The last race was the Women’s Varsity Four, also won by the Connecticut Varsity Four squad (6:13.2). Barry claimed second place (6:18.1), Jacksonville third (6:30.2) and UConn’s Varsity Four B team was fourth (6:36.4)
Connecticut will race on March 23 against the University of Miami in Miami, FL.
