The University of Connecticut men’s and women’s swimming and diving team will host their third dual of the season on Saturday, November 16, at 1:00 p.m. against Boston University at Wolff-Zackin Natatorium. The men and women are both currently 3-2 on the season.
The UConn men’s swimming team will be led by Marshal Livingstone, Bobby Folan, Dustin Rogers and Mike McNulty, all of whom have qualified for the BIG EAST A section. Livingstone has qualified for both the 50 and 100 freestyles, Folan in the 100 and 200 backstrokes, Rogers in the 100 butterfly and McNulty in the 200 back. On the women’s side the Huskies who have qualified for the BIG EAST A meet are Cassie Novak, Kate Larson, Cathy Brown, Lindsay Hansen, Bridget Regan and Liz Campbell. Novak has qualified in the 200 free and the 100 and 200 back, Larson in the 100 and 200 breast, Brown in the 100 free, Hansen in the 1650 free, Regan in the 400 IM and Campbell in the 200 fly. UConn has also qualified numerous swimmers for the BIG EAST B section as well.
On the diving side for the Huskies the men are led by Kevin McKinney and Chase Dunlap, while on the women’s side Melissa Kull and Alisha Lee lead the way. McKinney has won all but one dual this season, which was won by Dunlap. Kull on the women’s side has won every dual this year on both boards, while Lee has finished right behind her every time. These two duos give the Huskies a nice one-two punch on both sides of the boards.
Boston University is currently 1-1 on the men’s side and 0-3 on the women’s side. Swimmers to watch for BU on the men side are Doug Mark in the 500 and 1000 free, Jay Toutant in the 100 back, Edward Kelly in both the 50 and 100 free and Victor Panquia on the boards. On the women’s side BU swimmers to watch are Karissa Lopez in the 100 and 200 fly, Meagan Breiland in the 50 and 100 free, Ingrid Salazar in the 100 free and Silvia Golle on the boards.
