Rowing Takes Two Second Place Finishes

HARTFORD, CT (October 6) – The University of Connecticut women’s rowing team captured two second place finishes at the Head of the Riverfront in Hartford on Sunday afternoon.
The junior varsity eight boat placed second behind Mount Holyoke College in its respective race in an eight-boat event. The women’s varsity four, also collecting a second place finish, followed the Coast Guard Academy. UConn also raced a second boat in the varsity four, ending fourth.
The varsity eight squad completed its race in a time of 15:54.1, good for third place behind Yale (14:10.8) and Coast Guard (15:40.1). The novice eight boat also placed third after Coast Guard and Mount Holyoke.
Connecticut will race again on October 12 at the Head of the Housatonic in Shelton, CT.
