UConn Lacrosse Falls To Boston, 13-3

UConn's Heather Bliss (Tully, NY) scored the first goal of the game at 25:04 to give the Huskies a 1-0 lead they would keep until late in the first half. The Terriers answered with two goals to take a 2-1 halftime advantage when Katie Nordhoff and Renee Vanderbrug scored at 9:07 and 2:21, respectively.
The Terriers scored the first goal of the second half on a free position shot but UConn rallied with goals by Pam Lowie (Cortland, NY) and Susan Payne (Penn Yan, NY) to knot the game at three goals apiece. The score remained tied for almost six minutes before Boston University scored the go-ahead goal at 16:23. The tally ignited a 10-goal run that would give the Terriers the final 13-3 advantage.
Connecticut goalkeeper April Pollock (North Syracuse, NY) tied her own single-game record with 19 saves. She first set the standard on April 1, 2000 vs. Syracuse and tied it for the first time against Rutgers on April 15, 2000. Boston University's Brooke Barrett made six saves.
Connecticut returns to action on Friday, April 20 vs. Fairfield. The game is scheduled to be played at Joseph J. Morrone Stadium in Storrs. Game time is set for 4:00 p.m.
