Huskies Sweep BIG EAST Foe Boston College

CHESTNUT HILL, MA (November 17, 2001) – The University of Connecticut men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams triumphed over BIG EAST foe Boston College Saturday afternoon in Chestnut Hill, MA.
The women took the meet from the Eagles by a close score of 155-145 to boost their record to 4-3 overall and 3-3 in the BIG EAST. The men had a larger advantage, taking the meet with a score of 213 to 83. That win brings the men’s team to 4-4 overall and 3-4 in the BIG EAST.
Coming up big on the women's side were juniors Kate Larson (Sayville, NY) and Melissa Kull (Poughkeepsie, NY), who had three and two first-place finishes, respectively, and sophomore Lindsay Hansen (Clearwater, FL) and freshman Cassie Novak (Cheshire, CT) who had two apiece.
For the men, although not their most challenging meet of the season, junior Marshal Livingstone (Endwell, NY) pulled in two first-place finishes to lead the team.
The two teams will be idle the next two weekends, but will resume competition on Dec. 6-8 at the Notre Dame Invitational.
