2019: Played in 16 games and made six starts during senior season. Posted career-highs with two goals and five points. Scored first career goal vs. Colgate (9/1). Chipped in an assist on Jessica Mazo's goal vs. Harvard (9/15). Headed home go-ahead goal on her Senior Day against Temple (8/31). Totaled six shots and 769 minutes in final season.
2018: Played in 15 matches, started nine...Grabbed one assist during the season against Memphis...Recorded seven shots with six on goal. Played 90 minutes on two occasions.
2017: Played in 17 matches and started 12...Was one of seven Huskies to log over 1000 minutes...Recorded two shots on goal and three total shots.
2016: Saw action in one game during freshman campaign...Played in American Athletic Conference regular season title clinching game at East Carolina (Oct. 30)...Registered 31 minutes for the Huskies in the contest.
Before UConn: Earned four varsity letters at Bay Shore for Soccer…three-year team captain…earned All-County honors as a junior and a senior…named MVP her senior year…finished her senior season with 10 goals and eight assists…deemed Player of the Year as a junior…earned All-League accolades both her freshman and sophomore seasons…also earned three varsity letters for lacrosse…earned All-Division honors for lacrosse her junior and senior year…served as team captain for lacrosse as a senior…member of the National Honor Society and high honor student.
Personal: Sofia Belle Leone…born in October of 1998…daughter of Mario and Nicole…has two sisters, Sydney and Lola, and one brother, Antonio…an exploratory major at UConn.
