STORRS, Conn. – The UConn men's soccer team (3-3) is set to host the Sacred Heart Pioneers (1-3-1) at Ray Reid Field at Joseph J. Morrone Stadium on Wednesday, September 9. Kickoff is set for 6:00pm and will be streamed on UConn+.

UConn is riding a three-game winning streak into Wednesday's match. During that stretch, the Huskies have outscored their opponents, 12-3 while averaging 18 shots per game. Forward's Elijah Langford and Evan Pickering have led UConn's attack this season, accounting for eight of the Huskies 14 goals. Langord's five goals rank fourth nationally.

A Look at Sacred Heart

The Sacred Heart Pioneers are coming off a 2-0 loss to Vermont over the weekend. The Pioneers earned their first win of the season against LIU last week. Sacred Heart is coached by Anthony Anzevui entering his fourth season as the head coach. The Pioneers were picked to finish first in the Metro Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll, with three players, Ivan Morcillo, Danny Istambouli, and Daniel Losfablos earning Preseason All-Metro honors. Sacred Heart won the Metro regular season championship a season ago but fell one game short of earning an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. The Pioneers lost to Siena, 2-1 in the conference tournament championship match.

Series History

These two programs last met in 2021, when the Huskies earned a 3-0 victory over the Pioneers. UConn has never lost to Sacred Heart, holding a 4-0 all-time record against the Pioneers.
