CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — No. 9 UConn field hockey lost to No. 3 Harvard 1-0 on Sunday afternoon. The Huskies generated four of their six shots and three corners in the fourth quarter but were held scoreless despite finishing with a 6-5 edge in shots.

Emma Larit produced UConn's first recorded chance of the first quarter, sending a shot wide at 3:56. Harvard generated its main opportunity shortly after, earning a penalty corner from Martha le Huray at 5:57 before Lara Beekhuis shot wide at 6:01. No further shots were recorded, and the first quarter ended scoreless.

The second quarter settled into a foul-heavy stretch before Harvard generated the lone recorded shot of the frame at 21:13. Sage Piekarski put the attempt on cage, but Natalie Mckenna made the save for UConn. The quarter continued without another recorded shot, and Harvard's Tilly Butterworth was shown a yellow card at 27:59 before the teams finished the segment scoreless.

UConn generated the first recorded chance of the third quarter when Milou Heuker took a penalty corner at 32:48 and Lucy Zich's shot was blocked six seconds later. Harvard's Elin van Sante received a yellow card at 35:23. Harvard produced its main opportunity on a Martha le Huray penalty corner at 39:29, but Evie Smith's shot went wide, and the quarter ended without a goal.

Harvard earned a penalty corner at 49:00 and scored five seconds later, with Lara Beekhuis finishing off assists from Rosa Kooijmans and Martha le Huray for a 1-0 lead. Natalie Mckenna kept the margin there by saving Lucy Barker's shot at 49:38, and the Huskies answered with Larit's saved shot at 50:10 and a Heuker penalty corner that led to Olivia McKenna's blocked attempt at 53:01. UConn played through Olivia McKenna's yellow card at 53:54 and pushed again late, earning two corners at 57:23 and 57:29 around a blocked Lene Reiche shot before Larit's 57:35 try was saved by Linde Burger, and Harvard finished off a 1-0 result.
