STORRS, Conn. – The UConn men's soccer team rallied late to earn a 2-1 victory over the Brown University Bears on Thursday evening at Joseph J. Morrone Stadium. The Huskies scored twice in the final 20 minutes to erase an early deficit and secure their second consecutive win, improving to 2-3 on the season.

Brown took an early lead, with James Snaith scoring the game's opening goal in the 17^th minute to put the Bears ahead 1-0.

UConn pressed for an equalizer following the Brown goal, generating six shots attempts, including a shot by Rashid Nacif Joffre that hit the post. Despite the Huskies offensive push, Brown maintained its 1-0 advantage going into the halftime break. UConn held a 6-5 edge in shots during the first half, while both teams were whistled for 15 fouls.

The physicality intensified in the second half, with seven yellow cards and two red cards shown. VAR played a key factor for both teams in the second half. In the 60^th minute, UConn was awarded a penalty kick, but the decision was overturned following video review. Brown then had a goal disallowed in the 70^th minute, after another VAR review, keeping the score at 1-0.

Sophomore midfielder Preston Alessio sparked the Huskies comeback in the 71^st minute, scoring the equalizer to pull UConn level at 1-1. The goal marked Alessio's first of the season.

In the 85^th minute, UConn's Evan Pickering and Brown's Canos Seneci were each shown red cards, resulting in a penalty kick awarded to the Huskies. Senior forward Elijah Langford stepped up to the spot and buried the game-winner, giving UConn its first lead of the night, 2-1. Langford has now scored five goals through his first five games for the Huskies.

UConn held off Brown over the final five minutes, preserving its 2-1 lead to secure its second consecutive win of the season. Langford led UConn with four shots, including two on goal. Kyle Durham played all 90 minutes in goal for the Huskies, finishing the match without a save for the first time in his career.
