Huskies Wrap Day Three of NCAA East First Round

LEXINGTON, KY - The UConn men's track and field team wrapped up day three at the 2026 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field East First Round at Kentucky's Outdoor Track and Field Complex on Friday afternoon.
UConn had three competitors in the high jump on Friday in sophomore Enaji Muhammad, freshman Derek Shimer and junior Dar Jankovic.   Muhammad finished in 29th place, clearing his opening height at 2.06m before bowing out at 2.11m. Both Shimer and Jankovic did not record a height, missing in their first three attempts.
On the first day of competition for the men on Wednedsay, freshman Marshall Potter turned in a 19th place finish in the field of 48 competitors in the hammer and did so with a new personal best throw of 64.29m. Potter would come back at night to throw the shot put and 37th with a toss of 17.39m.
Classmate Thomas Bannon was 16th in javelin with a throw of 65.31m. Grad student Connor Hayford was just on his heels in 18th place with a throw of 64.76m.
On the track, junior Medwin Odamtten ran the 100m dash and was 30th in the first round of qualifying with a time of 10.32 seconds. Junior OJ Singletary ran in the 400m hurdles first round and was 44th in 52.56 seconds.
The Huskies close out their stay in Lexington on Saturday with the duo of Sascha Letica and Sarah Trainor on the track. Letica will run in the 5,000m and Trainor the 3,000m steeplechase.
