HookC Loses Regular Season Finale

STORRS, Conn. - The UConn baseball team (32-24, 15-6 BIG EAST) dropped its regular season finale against Villanova, 9-6, on Senior Day at Elliot Ballpark.
Cam Righi and Nater Wachter paced the offense with multi-hit efforts with Righi delivering a two-run double in the third.Â
Garret Garbinski pitched 3.0 innings out of the bullpen with zero earned runs allowed.Â
With the loss, the Huskies share the BIG EAST regular season title with St. John's and Xavier and will be the No. 2 seed in the upcoming BIG EAST Championship. UConn will face No. 3 seeded Xavier at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 20.
Game Notes
- With the loss the Huskies finish the home slate at 9-10 on the season. It is the first time since 2014 that the Huskies finish under .500 in Storrs.Â
- Jackson Marshall extended his reach base streak to 45 consecutive games.Â
- The Huskies honored Justin Lessing, Steve Thomas, Austin Trumpour, Evan Hamberger, Garret Garbinski, Greg Shaw III and Oliver Pudvar and Paxton Meyers on Senior Day.
- Oliver Pudvar had his five start win streak snapped with the loss today.
