Huskies Gearing Up for Duke Invitational

STORRS- UConn track and field hits the road this week, traveling down to Durham, North Carolina to compete in the Duke Invitational from Friday, April 10th to Saturday, April 11th.
The Huskies protected the house last Saturday at the Dog Fight Challenge in Storrs, compiling 260.5 points, finishing ahead of second-place Northeastern, who finished with 187.5 points.
UConn made program history at the meet, notching six new program top-10 marks. On the women's side Brooklyn Taylor won the 100m hurdles with a time of 13.41, the fourth-best mark in program history. Rachel Mason won the pole vault at 3.85m, the fourth-best performance in program history. On the track, Kiley Shatzel (400m hurdles) and Ally McCarthy (3000M) finished with respective times of 1:01.58 and 9:52.42, good for ninth and 10th best in program history.
In the triple jump, Matilda Brockley finished with a performance of 12.39m, the seventh-best mark in program history.
On the men's side, the team of Noble Gongon, Damon Simpson, Medwin Odamtten, and Nicholas Wright finished the 4x100m relay with a time of 40.3, the fourth-fastest time in program history.
