Huskies Headed to 130th Running of the Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA, PA – The UConn men's and women's track & field teams will be in Philadelphia this weekend for the 130th running of the Penn Relays at historic Franklin Field on Thursday through Saturday.

The Huskies will have a strong contingent at the annual historic meet on all three days.
Competing for the men on Thursday will be Orenthal Singletary in the championship division 400m hurdles and Marshall Potter, Alex Krause, and Luke DeCresdenzo in the hammer throw. For the women on Thursday, Sascha Letica will run the 5000 meters and Chloe Trudel will run in the 10,000 meters, both in the championship division. Also in the championship division of events is Jessica Starr and Kiley Shatzel in the 400m hurdles and Sarah Trainor in the 3,000m steeplechase. On the track, Gabriela DeFelice will be in the hammer throw.
Friday's schedule has William Watson and Mohamed Wahdan in the 100m hurdles as well as the 4x100, 4x400 and distance medley relays on the track. In the field, Derek Shimer will compete in the high jump, Wyatt Martin in the pole vault, Emi Erekosima in the triple jump, Potter and Nicholas Connolly in the shot put, Krause and Connolly in the discus.
For the women on Friday, Brooklyn Taylor runs in the 100m hurdles along with teams in the 4x100, 4x400, spring medley and distance medley relays. In the field events, Kaylee Meyer is in the high jump, Rachel Mason, Piper Linn, Abigail Bernas and Katie Floering will compete in the pole vault, Maresa Hense and Jaidah in the long jump, and Matilda Brockley in the triple jump. In the throws, Sinclaire Fryer, Ella Karp and Brook-lynn Roberts will compete in the shot put, DeFelice in the discus and Caitlin Dumouchel in the javelin.
The event wraps up on Saturday and for the men Enaji Muhammed will compete in the championship division of the high jump. Thomas Bannon and Connor Hayford will throw in the championship division of the javelin.
